Proviron in a nutshell

Originally, Proviron nv, short for Process and Environmental Engineering, was set out to be a engineering office. Leo Michiels started his company in 1977 as a independent study office, specialized in the optimization of process technology. Shortly after, the need arose to put the processes developed into practice. In 1983 Proviron Industries nv was established, it started with production in 1984 with 7 employees.

Proviron Industries is specialized in custom manufacturing, offering our customers a complete solution package. As the company developed more and more, the need for expansion arose. This was found in Ostend, a site ideally located near highway, railway, canal and sea link. The acquisition of the UCB Fine Chemicals plant lead to the establishment of Proviron Fine Chemicals nv in 1996.

Also in 1996, Proviron America, Inc was established, developing parallel activities to Proviron Industries, but fully dedicated to the American market.

In 2002 Proviron takes over Euroftal and the central services provider on site in Ostend, allowing us to develop out own processes starting from the basic design to the full implementation. The Proviron team now is up to 350 employees.

Today, Leo Michiels has passed on the helm to the next generation. Both sons, Mark & Wim Michiels are ready to tackle the future together.
